StemCure Personal Tissue Banking Program.

Recent scientific studies suggest that the deeper dermal layer of our skin is the optimal material to be used for our program. For this reason, we utilize dermal fibroblast cells, the cells of the connective tissues located beneath our skin’s outer layer, or epidermis. These cells are relatively protected by the upper layers of our skin from the penetration of solar radiation and other external stresses that might cause undesirable and often devastating alterations to the cells’ chromosomal DNA and the genes encoded there. In order to properly extract fibroblasts from our skin, we have to perform a basic skin biopsy procedure. This is a fairly routine and almost painless procedure that can be performed by any physician or most competent medical personnel.
To participate in StemCure’s Tissue Banking Program and save your own skin tissue sample you will need to go through the following steps:

Step 1. Enter Your Personal Information (Enroll Now).
You will have to enter your personal information and make an initial payment (To do that proceed to the page: Enroll Now). After you have registered with StemCure’s Tissue Banking Program, you will receive our Tissue Sample Kit within 5-10 business days. This specially designed medical Kit contains all the tools and components necessary for the proper collection and transportation of a skin tissue sample to StemCure’s Lab Facilities. You will also receive detailed instructions about this procedure.

Note: Each member of the family who participates in our program will be supplied with their own Tissue Sample Kit that will be labeled with their name and unique TB client number to prevent any inadvertent misidentification of tissue samples between family members.

Step 2. Find a doctor.
You will arrange an appointment for the biopsy procedure with a doctor of your choosing (without direct participation from StemCure). This can be your personal physician or even your dentist. The practitioner must review StemCure’s instructional materials: a written detailed explanation of how to perform a tissue sample swab for biopsy collection and a training video hosted on our website. Prior to the biopsy procedure, you must take a blood test for common infectious diseases which are indicated in: Tissue Sample Kit Instructions for Medical Personnel (See our web page: Agreements & Forms).
IMPORTANT: The biopsy procedure must be performed between Monday and Thursday because the tissue samples must reach our labs no later than Friday via overnight delivery.

When you assign a day for the biopsy procedure with your doctor, specify the date on our Procedure Calendar by simply listing the names of the participants, for example: John Smith, Sarah Smith, etc. It will help us avoid mishaps and will better prepare our lab for receiving and processing your tissue sample.

Step 3. Send the package.
After successfully acquiring the tissue sample, the physician or his/her representative must properly pack the specimens in the shipping box included and make sure that the sample is express shipped to StemCure on the same day, within 6 hours from the time of the biopsy procedure. The box must be brought to a FedEx Office, or call 1-800-Go-Fedex to arrange a pickup for overnight delivery.

IMPORTANT: We cannot process your tissue samples in our laboratory facilities without blood test results and the completed and signed Agreement Forms. Both documents have to be enclosed in the same box with each tissue specimen.

Step 4. Our Technology.
Once we receive your tissue sample, we will immediately start the lab procedures. The tissue processing takes about 30 days and includes a safety test for sterility, a test for viability, and tissue cryopreservation. StemCure guarantees the highest quality procedures, performed in accordance with our proven laboratory methods. As soon as we complete all these procedures, we will distribute the cryopreserved tissues for long term storage. Depending on the age and condition of the acquired skin specimen, we usually obtain from 6-20 cryovials, which are then separated, for security, between two different storage locations, as required by StemCure’s Quality Assurance Policy and encouraged by the FDA.

Once we have successfully performed the cryopreservation procedure, you will be notified and invoiced by our company.

StemCure pledges to strictly maintain all the necessary conditions for optimum cryogenic tissue preservation during the term of your contract.
